Charlie Bracken is Co-Chief Financial Officer of Liberty Global with responsibility for Group Treasury, Tax and Financial Planning. Mr. Bracken is also a director of Telenet Group Holding NV, a Liberty Global subsidiary, and a Belgian public limited liability company. Mr. Bracken is an executive officer of Liberty Global and sits on the company’s Executive Management Committee.
Mr. Bracken joined United Pan Europe Communications NV, later merged into Liberty Global Europe Holding BV, in March 1999 and in November 1999 became Chief Financial Officer until February 2004, when he became Co-Chief Financial Officer of its parent company, UnitedGlobalCom, Inc. (UGC). He was appointed to his current position in June 2005 following the combination of Liberty Media International, Inc. and UGC. He is a trustee of the Chello Foundation (UK).
Prior to joining, Mr. Bracken worked for Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). From 1994 until 1999, he held a number of positions at Goldman Sachs International in London, including Executive Director, Communications, Media and Technology. While at Goldman Sachs International, Mr. Bracken was responsible for providing merger and corporate finance advice to a number of communications companies, including LGE.
Mr. Bracken is a graduate of Cambridge University.
