In Heroes
Liberty Global’s In Heroes program is an annual
volunteering awards program, which celebrates the efforts of our employees who go
above and beyond the call of duty to help alleviate unmet needs in the community.
In Heroes is rooted in the knowledge that we have many employees across our operations
who find time in their lives to volunteer in their local or remote communities. The program is open to all our affiliates, 17 in total (includes our corporate entities and programming operations in addition to our 13 countries of operation). Applications are judged by a committee of executive officers from Liberty Global. The judging committee takes into account the following selection criteria:
- Quantifiable community impact: actual benefit/contribution the individual or team has brought to the community;
- Level of ongoing commitment shown: volunteering time given, money raised for organization, etc.;
- Creativity and innovation.
As of year-end 2011, 481 applications have been submitted and 112 awards have been granted since the program’s inception in 2006, as further illustrated below.
