Our communities

Our business brings people together. We believe that what we do is a powerful force for good in the world. But we recognize that there are times when certain groups of people may need extra help, and that’s why we make additional investments in the communities in which we operate. Liberty Global and our affiliates have been making these investments for years – supporting a variety of causes and activities.
We are also committed to global philanthropy, which includes our sponsorship of the Chello Foundation, an independent foundation which focuses on providing educational scholarships to AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa.

We are continually impressed by the commitment and dedication demonstrated by our employees in supporting a wide range of causes that matter to them. We strive to encourage and support our employees in these endeavors.



Our In Heroes program recognizes and celebrates employees who have devoted time and effort to the communities where they live and achieved exceptional results. Employees are encouraged to apply or to nominate other colleagues for the awards. Winners receive a donation to the organization they have supported through the year. As of year-end 2010, 401 In Heroes applications have been submitted by employees from across Liberty Global and 88 awards have been granted since the program’s inception in 2006. 

In Givers is our matched giving program that provides financial support to match employees’ fundraising activities for their chosen charities. Liberty Global matches employee fundraising up to $1,000 per activity.
