Corporate Responsibility  - Charitable Giving

Why it Matters

We recognize that, as a successful global company, we have a duty to give back to society. We therefore aim to have positive impact on our neighboring communities through the way we do business, as well as our direct investment.

In addition to our digital inclusion efforts, we operate a range of charitable giving programs to contribute directly to our communities. Our employees are closely involved in these programs.

What We are Doing

We support our communities through a number of different programs, from promoting a digital society and protecting children to assisting local charities and foundations.

Our charitable giving program is focused on causes that matter most to our people. A significant portion of our charitable giving is a result of our Employees IN the Community program, which includes IN Heroes and IN Givers. The IN Heroes’ program recognizes and celebrates employees who had devoted their time and effort in the communities where they live and achieved exceptional results. IN Givers is our matched giving program that provides financial support to match employees’ fundraising activities for their chosen charities.

Liberty Global also supports the Lessons for Life Foundation (formerly the Chello Foundation), an  independent organization that provides educational scholarships to AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa.

We are continually impressed by the commitment and dedication demonstrated by our employees to a wide range of causes that matter to them, and we strive to encourage and support them in these endeavors.

In order to capture the full breadth of our investments, we implement the London Benchmarking Group model (LBG), a globally recognized measurement methodology. By measuring our performance, we can define our role in society and the impact on surrounding communities.
