UPC Hungary, Liberty Global’s local affiliate, is the largest broadband cable operator in Hungary with 34% market share and is the second largest Internet Service Provider with 24% of the broadband internet market. Through its cable network, UPC provides service in more than 90 communities including the capital city of Budapest and the largest towns and their surrounding areas. Ninety-six percent of UPC Hungary’s networks are a modern, two-way, broadband HFC cable network reaching more than one million homes and providing triple play services. Over 60% of its video cable subscribers are served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 750 Mhz.

UPC Hungary offers up to four tiers of analog cable programming services (between five and 55 channels) and two premium channels, depending on the technical capability of the network. In March 2008, UPC Hungary started the rollout of digital cable services, offering up to 73 channels, plus premium tiers and HD programming, combined with EPG and video games. Seven percent of the homes served by UPC Hungary’s network subscribe to the lifeline analog cable service only. Programming consists of the national Hungarian terrestrial broadcast channels and selected European satellite and local programming that consist of proprietary and third party channels.
UPC Direct is the first national digital satellite television service in Hungary providing services anywhere in the country. Over 150 digital television and radio broadcasts are available of which a broad choice of Hungarian speaking television channels are offered. Several different packages are offered.

UPC Hungary offers five tiers of chello branded high-speed internet service with download speeds ranging from 128 Kbps to 20 Mbps, both over cable and DSL technology within its footprint serviced by Monor Telephone Company, part of the UPC group. UPC Hungary provides broadband internet services to subscribers in 97 settlements, including Budapest. |

UPC Hungary offers traditional switched telephony services over a twisted copper pair network and uses entirely optical and digital switch network providing full scale and integrated telecommunication services. UPC Hungary also offers digital telephony services (VoIP) over its cable network through-out the country within its footprint, in 53 settlements, including Budapest. |
