UPC Netherlands

UPC Netherlands is the 2nd largest cable television operator in the Netherlands. UPC Netherlands provides digital & analog cable video, broadband internet, and digital telephony (VoIP) services to 3.7 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 1.7 million customers as of December 31, 2012.

UPC Netherland’s customers are located across six broad regional clusters, including the two largest cities, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Almost all of its networks are upgraded to two-way capability, and almost all of its cable homes are served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 860 MHz.

UPC Netherlands also offers a range of video, voice, broadband internet, and data services to business customers, largely in its metropolitan regions.

Additionally, Liberty Global’s European headquarters and European distribution center, the Digital Media Center, are located in Amsterdam.

Video

UPC Netherlands provides digital and analog cable video services. For its digital cable subscribers, UPC Netherland offers different packages starting with a basic package that includes 69 video channels and several digital radio channels (including the channels in its analog service). In addition, UPC Netherlands offers its customers a variety of premium channels, HD programming, interactive services such as VoD and 'catch-up' TV, an electronic programming guide, as well as DVR time-shifting capability. An analog basic cable subscriber receives 32 video channels and several radio channels, depending on location.

UPC Netherlands offers multiple tiers of broadband internet service. Download speeds of up to 120 Mbps are available with UPC Fiber Power, its next-generation broadband internet service utilizing EuroDOCSIS 3.0 technology. UPC Netherlands was one of the first companies in Europe to offer next-generation internet service, which is available to almost all of its homes passed.

Voice
