Being Switzerland’s largest cable network operator, Cablecom is the first provider in the country to offer television, internet, fixed line telephony and mobile telephony – also known as “quadruple play” – from a single source. The company’s own nationwide network, which is 71% upgraded to two-way capability, supplies all the larger towns in Switzerland. Over 54% of Swiss television households receive cable service from Cablecom.
Product Roadmap

Cablecom offers its digital cable subscribers a basic digital package consisting of more than 90 video channels and 40 radio channels and a range of additional pay television programming in a variety of language and thematic program packages. In 2006, Cablecom introduced a digital television recorder (DVR), enabling users to create a personalized television experience. Cablecom's digital cable service is sold directly to the end user as an add-on to its analog cable services. At the end of 2007, the company set new standards with the launch of high definition television (HDTV) – a quantum leap in the television experience. At the same time internet TV was launched. |
With download speeds ranging from 500 Kbps to 10 Mbps Cablecom offers eight tiers of broadband internet service. With this maximum surfing speed of 10 Mbps and an upload rate of 2.5 Mbps, the company provides the fastest internet connection in Switzerland. |
Telephony services are available from Cablecom to 81% of its homes passed. Cablecom is the only provider offering a free calling plan in a Swiss fixed telephony network.
With the launch of a mobile pre-paid offer in 2005 and post-paid offer in 2006, Cablecom is the first telecommunications provider in Switzerland to offer television, internet, fixed line telephony and mobile telephony – also known as “quadruple play” – from a single provider.
